Offset printing only works up to 350 g/sqm …
Maybe you hear that or something like that most the time -and at least in principle it’s right.
In fact, most offset machines are not designed to print papers that are stronger than approx. 0.4 mm.
then they simply no longer bend smoothly over the cylinders and block.
But where is really the limit of paper strength is fluid: Which machine, which paper …? And last but not least, of course, how capable and willing is the person standing at the machine to suffer?
It is also true, however, that there are machines with extra-large cylinders: This ones also face a thicker box.
500 g/sqm and 0.7 mm thickness is usually the maximum limit.
Colour Matters is available in 700 g/qm as standard – that is a thickness of 1.0 mm with its approx. 1.3-fold volume! Until now, every offset machine has capitulated to this.
EXCELLENT: Together with our efficient new cooperation partner, we can now make this possible: offset printing on cardboard in 1 mm thickness!
